The Britishers have ruled India for about 200 years and they have had a big impact on India (good and bad). Here, I highlight what I love and learnt from the English.
Of course, the most important thing, that we learnt from the British is the English language. This has helped Indians to become a global workforce. But, we Indians failed to pick up the British accent though 😁
I love the Posh British Accent! Even though I cannot understand some words when I hear Britishers speaking ! 😊
When I visited England for the first time in 2002 for a training:
I loved London.
I was so impressed by the architecture and the way Londoners dressed.
Even the security officer in the company building, was dressed in a suit and that was an eye opener for me and I found it very impressive!
I have interacted with few English, in my work place:
Their work ethic of being systematic, process oriented and professionalism is something that I have learnt and inculcated in my professional life.
The work life balance that Europeans follow, is something that I incorporated too and it made my work life more enjoyable.
I grew up listening to the popular British bands – Pink Floyd, Sting, Queen . I have enjoyed listening to the music of these bands and it has influenced me.
